Raising the production quality bar

This note is for maintainers who want to move the Site Pipeline codebase from “strong” toward “very strong” or better. It is not a bug list. It is a maintainer checklist for the next quality step once correctness and coverage are already in good shape.

Current assessment

This codebase is now in the “very strong” to “excellent” range.

The earlier cleanup already removed the broad production, documentation, and testing gaps. The follow-up work after that also landed the last specifically identified high-value items:

  • canonical selected-version coverage across planning, evaluation, staged aggregates, and watch
  • canonical route or redirect coverage through check, staged aggregates, and watch
  • canonical internal-link-rule coverage through check diagnostics and staged content
  • more than one fixture-backed copied documentation packet in the getting-started material

That means this note no longer points at an active checklist of concrete implementation gaps. The main remaining job is discipline: keep maintenance notes short, current, and willing to delete old themes as soon as the repo no longer matches them.

What to do next

There is no longer a specific quality-bar mini-backlog captured here.

If a new drift theme appears later, add it only when it is clearly real and worth protecting with a canonical scenario, a fixture-backed docs regression, or another similarly high-leverage check.

Until then, the right maintenance move is simply to keep this note ruthless about current state instead of letting it turn into a historical checklist.
